Hit or Miss? Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

Are you a college student who has not slept the whole semester? How about a new mom who is up with your baby every hour of the night? Or you are a normal person but you binged watched a new TV show last night (thanks Netflix). Who needs sleep right? Wear those dark circles under your eyes proudly! Well, I have been using this concealer for a month now and honestly I have NO complaints!! It covers everything and is CREASE-FREE! I didn’t think this day would ever come but I have officially found my holy grail concealer. It lasts all day and doesn’t budge. This little beauty is what makeup lovers dreams are made of. Hit or Miss? Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

Alright, there has been A LOT of hype surrounding this bad boy! First lets start with a little bit about my skin type. I tend to lean more on the dry to dehydrated side of the scale. I hear rumors that this foundation works for most skin types. I am in the shade Alabaster and it seems to be a decent match! This foundation is available at Sephora and is currently $46. As far as what this foundation claims to do, here is what it says on the Sephora website.
A foundation and concealer in one, Vanish Foundation’s concentrated formula is infused with double the amount of pigment versus traditional foundations for instant full coverage in one application. The long-wearing, waterproof formula provides 12 hour coverage, and the innovative formula adjusts to your body temperature to effortlessly blend into the skin. Encased in a unique triangular bullet for precise application along the contours of the face, it can be used to contour and highlight. It features an array of shades and it’s designed specifically to be used with the Vanish Foundation Brush for the most seamless finish.

Lets start with the application of this product. When I apply this product I prefer to use a brush. My brush of choice is the Artis Oval 7, however any densely packed brush will suffice. I put a few drops of beauty oil on the brush and blend it into the skin. I do find that this blends out much nicer over a primer so I do recommend using a primer before applying the foundation. Once this foundation is on it does look FLAWLESS.

As far as wear goes I don’t know that it lasts 12 hours. I do think that the  wear time is significant, however, it does seem to wear off throughout the day.

So, who would I recommend this foundation for? I think wear time could be a little better but I do think it looks amazing for about 6 hours. I would suggest wearing this when you need to look great at a dinner party or even night out on the town. You could get away with wearing this to work if you needed to because even when it wears off it doesn’t look patchy. I guess I would say give it a try. It truly does look incredible on the skin!

Hit or Miss? MakeUp Forever Ultra HD Liquid Foundation

I am starting a new series on my blog called Hit or Miss. In this series I am going to review ultra popular items and tell you my honest opinion of the item(s).

Being that this is the first blog in this series I thought I would start with a newish/ reformulated line by #MakeupForever. In this review I am going to tell you my honest opinion of the Ultra HD Liquid Foundation.

I wear it in the color Y225 or color 117. In this little beauty you are getting 1.01 oz of product which is slightly more than average (typical is 1oz). They have 40 different shades with a wide variety of undertones so finding a shade match is pretty easy to do. Lets talk about the claims; (the below listed description was pulled from the Sephora website)

So this is a pretty big claim, but what are my over all thoughts?!? Well I kinda love this little guy! The foundation makes my skin look so natural and yet still evens out my imperfects (because we all have them). It lasts all day on my skin (which is dry to dehydrated) and doesn’t crease in my fine lines. I love to use this formula when I am filming or having pictures taken because it really does come across flawless. I would encourage you to head over to your local Sephora and get matched (and maybe a sample) that way you can become apart of the #UltraHDGeneration
